The 180 degree rule is a cinematographic guide line which means that the two characters should always have the same left-right relationship to each other. When filming we shouldn't cross the line of vision, which is an invisible line that has been established during the 1st shot. If we don't use 180 degree rule it will confuse the audience as the character's places are switched. For eg. if two characters are having conversation we should us 180 degree rule otherwise it confuses the audience. Although many director's crosses the line to create the fact.
We have used 180 degree rule in our Preliminary task which helped us to understand the rule better.
